Ridge Quarry & RAF Bomb Store
Part 3

The oldest graffiti we found, from 1903.

Ben in the darkness.

Most of the graffiti was war themed.

Some of the pillars in the eastern side of the quarry had been corseted with concrete to provide extra support for the roof.

An old Shell oil drum.

Marks in the floor where the rail track would have been can easily be seen.

Ancient hand prints. I don't think I want to know what they're made from...

The south east corner of the old quarry was never used for bomb storage, and we climbed this wobbly pile of rotting wood to look into it.

Andrew crawls in.

Joy!

An area of impressive concreting.
