Watford to Rickmansworth Branch Line
Part 1
It turns out that the old line has been converted into a cycle way, called the Ebury Way, so it's a good job we had brought our bikes with us:

We're cycling down the middle of where the track would have been.

You can see parts of the old bridge that would have carried trains.

The next bridge was also overly-strong for a cycle lane, hinting at its previous life.

This bridge crossed the Grand Union Canal. In the background you can see the Metropolitan Line which led to the demise of the line we were exploring. It's easy to see why two lines weren't needed as they're just a few yards apart.

The boys help out with the canal lock.

On our way again.
The Ebury Way stretches for about 4 miles along the length of the old branch line. Being an old train line it is mostly flat, so is very easy to cycle on, and the views are really nice. It's easy to forgot that you're still inside the M25.
